Challenge

The company 3ada s.r.o. asked us to develop an application for project management. The application was intended to allow the management of a network of customers and suppliers including their brands, addresses and contacts, with files uploaded to the cloud under each brand to be easily accessible for sharing. The main function of the application was to manage the process of individual projects, create and receive purchase orders and create invoice records for review. This was a contract for a major player in the POS marketing field, working with local and multinational companies to help them produce and install point-of-sale signage. The projects thus required a number of activities to be combined and interlinked. From project set-up to project management, cooperation with graphic designers and manufacturers to subsequent invoicing and implementation. Until now, all of these operations were done in Excel, which became unsustainable as the company grew.

Solution

For the client, we developed a web application that is based on the exact functions that our analyst and the client have defined together. The goal was to greatly simplify and streamline the project management process, thereby increasing overall efficiency. This PMT (Project management tool) has a number of important features. On the left menu, these include Project Setup, an environment for graphics, quotations and orders, delivery notes, invoicing and company and user management. At the beginning is the actual creation of the project and the assignment of a project manager, who then takes care of its overall management. The next position is the graphic designer, who sees the requested materials within their user interface, including their deadlines as well additional information such as global branding or customer specifications. The last position is the accountant, who takes care of matching payments, writing invoices and delivery notes.

The front-end of the project was implemented using the Vue.js library, while the back-end part was provided by .NetCore technology. Microsoft’s Azure cloud environment was chosen for the operation. In addition, components for creating notifications, company authentication through the API of the ARES portal and the SendGrid email application were used, which takes care of sending emails through the portal, without the need to log into the email application.
