  • What did 2025 bring in IT? We asked CTO Ondřej Synek
The year 2025 was marked by radical changes that all had one thing in common. Artificial intelligence became the common denominator for IT innovation in 2025. It found its way into almost all fields and became a topic that resonated throughout the world of information technology. "In 2025, artificial intelligence dominated everything and suppressed everything else. All the changes that took place were related to AI," adds Ondřej Synek, Technical Director at MEMOS Software.

ChatGPT in every household

Over the past year, artificial intelligence has ceased to be an interesting technological demo and has begun to spread as a commonplace thing. Thanks to its integration into web browsers and mobile phones, it is used by companies across all spectrums.

We consult artificial intelligence when we don’t know what to cook for dinner. It helps us at work, and many people see it as a partner that saves them a lot of time. Artificial intelligence has been integrated into most commonly used applications—we use it without even knowing it.

A big step for Microsoft

Microsoft has framed artificial intelligence as an aid to refactoring. Since December, Copilot has been helping with the modernization of the C++ project, upgrading MSVC, and solving the modernization and refactoring of existing systems.

It’s not that artificial intelligence does the work for developers. Thanks to it, refactoring is faster. Change proposals, block rewrites, and cross-file changes are more efficient and have a lower error rate—assuming that artificial intelligence knows the context.

Integrating AI into applications

How has artificial intelligence influenced the development of custom software? “There has been a surge in demand for the integration of artificial intelligence into existing software solutions,” says Ondřej Synek. Clients have been requesting application upgrades and the use of artificial intelligence for automation.

How does artificial intelligence help companies?

  • Smart search and work with internal data
  • Automation of routine processes
  • Intelligent validation and quality control
  • Estimates of demand, capacity, consumption, and deadlines
  • Automated management of inter-system steps

Growth of AI-based companies

Record amounts of money are flowing into artificial intelligence. The Stanford AI Index shows that generative AI is attracting a huge share of private investment, causing adoption in companies to skyrocket.

This is giving rise to new companies that use artificial intelligence to build new services. Whether it’s vibecoding or full-fledged development, AI makes it cheaper, faster, and more efficient.

Artificial intelligence is used in logistics, law, and manufacturing. These are not simple chatbots, but sophisticated tools that analyze contracts and help design more efficient workflows.

Greater emphasis on security

However, the domestication of artificial intelligence also creates a greater demand for software security. AI has revealed weaknesses. In addition, once artificial intelligence gains access to internal data, questions arise about auditing, user roles, and responsibility for its output.

At MEMOS Software, we follow news in the IT world—even if it seems somewhat monotonous. The year 2025 clearly showed the demand for automation and effective solutions that save companies more time.

What does this mean for 2026? It’s hard to say. Changes are happening at a frantic pace, and no one dares to make long-term predictions. It may be that the AI bubble will burst in a few months, or, conversely, it will encompass even more fields and replace some professions.
