Enable the collection of data from external field workers by a means that is not dependent on a specific device that the workers would have to carry and operate.
We have developped an application for receiving specially formatted SMS messages for Android smartphone. The app forwards the received data from the field to a web service that checks and automatically corrects the data if there is an error or typo on the part of the message sender. The data is then stored in a database for later processing.
